Take Action

Change starts locally, and there are many ways you can take action with Indivisible St. Johnsbury. Whether you prefer organizing events, writing to elected officials, helping with community outreach, or supporting demonstrations, there is a place for you in our movement.

Every movement needs a wide range of talents. If you have skills in graphic design, social media, event planning, livestreaming, research, or community outreach, we would love to have you involved.

Getting involved is easy. Attend a meeting, sign up to volunteer, or reach out to us through our website or social media. Together, we can build a stronger, more engaged community and work toward meaningful change.

Brave Little State

The Brave Little State Action Group focuses on celebrating and strengthening civic engagement here in Vermont. Inspired by the idea that small states can have a powerful voice, this group highlights the unique role Vermonters play in shaping local and statewide democracy.

Members work on initiatives that encourage community participation, support local conversations about Vermont issues, and help connect neighbors with the resources and information they need to stay involved. This group helps foster the spirit of grassroots action that makes Vermont’s civic culture so strong.

Elections Action Group

The Elections Action Group is helping educate and turn out voters for the 2026 Midterm Elections in key swing states--New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina. We work closely with Lean Left VT to amplify and activate their “States Matter” plan.

We will help turn out voters, protect election integrity and the right to vote. We will not be campaigning for individual candidates or issues, but we will help raise funds to support on-the-ground grassroots organizations in order to secure Democratic victories in 2026 and build momentum for the long term.

Rapid Response Team

In recent months, immigrants in Vermont — including here in the Northeast Kingdom — have been arrested by Customs & Border Patrol and ICE in sudden, unannounced raids. These are our neighbors, coworkers, and friends. We're organizing a Rapid Response Team to document, witness, and respond when these arrests happen — and work with other organizations in our community to make sure no one faces this alone.

Postcards for Progress

A few sentences on a postcard can make a real impact. Whether you want to thank your leaders, share your position, or voice disapproval, Indivisible St. Johnsbury wants you to send a note to your representatives today.

No War with Iran

Trump's unauthorized war in Iran has already taken the lives of US servicemembers and at least 1,000 Iranian civilians. It has devolved into a larger regional conflict, with missile and drone strikes, military operations, and retaliatory attacks now wounding and killing civilians in countries across the Middle East.

Meal Train

Indivisible St. Johnsbury is committed to providing dinner for 20 people at the NEKCA shelter once every month. Want to be part of the food train? It's easy to help our neighbors in need.

Halt the ICE Terror Machine

On January 24, federal forces with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) killed Alex Pretti in Minneapolis. This was just over two weeks after the killing of Renee Good.

These killings are a direct result of unchecked violence, impunity, and abuse carried out by federal immigration enforcement agencies against members of our communities.

Congress is currently negotiating funding for DHS, which includes ICE and Border Patrol. We are demanding our Members of Congress draft a new bill

Non-Biased Radio News

A successful protest campaign against Green Mountain Broadcasters' recent switch to Fox News national news will require a multi-faceted approach involving public pressure and action through local channels. The change, implemented by Republican state senator and new owner Russ Ingalls and reported in early September 2025, has already sparked local frustration and debate, primarily concerning the loss of news from sources like the Associated Press, CBS, and NBC.
