Our Story

Fighting for democracy in the streets and at the ballot box.

The Elections Action Group is helping educate and turn out voters for the 2026 Midterm Elections in key swing states--New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina. We work closely with Lean Left VT to amplify and activate their “States Matter” plan.

We will help turn out voters, protect election integrity and the right to vote. We will not be campaigning for individual candidates or issues, but we will help raise funds to support on-the-ground grassroots organizations in order to secure Democratic victories in 2026 and build momentum for the long term.​

What unites us is more important than what divides us. 

Indivisible St. Johnsbury is a non-partisan group. This initiative is not, however, we share an unshakeable belief that a better, more inclusive democracy is worth fighting for.

The Elections Action Group will work to flip red seats to blue and to protect blue seats at the federal, state, and local level.

The Elections Action Group is biased toward action – that means getting out of our comfort zones, holding ourselves accountable, and supporting each other in this challenging but meaningful work.  

We meet monthly over Zoom, and communicate through email as well, but the important work requires individual commitment and effort.

Personal contact with voters can increase turn-out by up to 7%! Phone-banking provides valuable insights and can be a fun experience! But there is more to do than make calls.

The Elections Action Group has opportunities for everyone to make an impact:   

• Phone banking and door-to-door canvassing

• Meaningful 1:1 conversations with voters to learn about the issues that matter to them

• Voter registration assistance, voting information, and ballot curing, to ensure everyone’s vote is counted

• Writing postcards to enhance personal outreach efforts

• Fundraising for grassroots organizations that work year-round in key swing states
